Steiner is in exile and Spectre can gain control of a full base worth millions of credits. As the 2 missions become available, Spectre's tactical officer, Castle, pleads the case for abandoning Katrina Steiner and the losing side of the war.
Rumors of an abandoned prison camp reached the resistance and efforts are made to locate and liberate the camp in order to enlist more personnel for the Resistance cause.
After a short reunion, Ian and Joanna are separated once more as the Resistance plans to mobilize their forces to take the fight to Steiner. They make a brief detour to save a coastal town named Vale after Steiner threatened to bomb the town due to allegations of links to the Resistance.
Before the search for the cache could be conducted however, Joanna and her lance are ambushed by Steiner forces, leaving her badly injured and in mortal danger. Ian has to make a choice, between rescuing his sister from certain death or securing the weapons cache for an assault on the Dresari palace. Whatever the player chooses, Ian and the Resistance fight one last battle against House Steiner, finally putting an end to the war. Is there a way I can install this without the disks?

The disc was in there when it died so we abandoned it to rot in our garage forgetting about the disc. Now it's and i'm For the last month I had been searching the entire house for MW4 since I really wanted to experience the nostalgia again, forgetting it was in the old PC. I then realised last night it was still in the PC. I unscrewed the PC and opened the disc compartment. There it was! It was the most excited i've been int the last 2 years.
I loaded it into my new PC and installed it. After about 10 minutes it finished. It was th most disappointed i've been in the last 2 years.

Then the computers capacitors died and we could no longer play it so we abandoned it and left it in our garage. I wanted to play MW4 so I searched the entire house instead of the garage. I looked there, unscrewed the PC and found the disc. I was so excited. Put it into my desktop and installed it. Then I was the most disappointed i've ever been in my entire life.

The web server is back online and we have a new version of MTX available. The new version brings with it an offline mode, allowing you to install games and updates when the web servers are down. A critical flaw in our design pattern has been addressed where MTX would fail when our servers went down.
There are risks involved with installing and updating in offline mode as the client can't verify the files to make sure they haven't become corrupted, but it does give you the option if you wish to install when the web server is unavailable. If the files are corrupted, you will have to re-download and reinstall in order to connect to servers running the correct version. We've also removed the skin from MTX in this version. At some point we will allow for custom skins so you will have the ability to customize MTX's appearance.
The public outcry of the application being laggy has been addressed and the result is a much more snappy windows form application.
We strongly recommend that you install the current public beta version 1. This version is not dependent on our website and should function much better under heavy traffic. Some people have expressed questions and concerns about using MTX to install the game.
The main reason we are using MTX to deliver this free distribution of Mechwarrior: Mercenaries is to be able to serve the many updates we have planned in the near future. Patching and updating Mercs without an easy method of distribution to the amount of people who will need the patches and updates, will become a much larger problem than simply being patient with us and MTX while we work out the bugs.
The community will fragment with all the different versions that will be out there once we start releasing updates without a system in place to deliver the updates to everyone playing the free release. We are aware of hardware issues and long standing bugs with Mechwarrior4 which we plan to address in the future. Also worth noting that we are planning to release more Mechwarrior titles via MTX in the future. We realize MTX caused grief for many folk and we apologize.
